It's good to create a whole universe for your characters, amazing worlds and technologies and other things, but you have to be careful to hold the reader's attention.Tyburn Crosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01099636836084332266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3354915789972448915.post-44838756104214259652013-08-18T21:56:27.444-04:002013-08-18T21:56:27.444-04:00Arrg, I've gotten reliant on seeing updates he...Arrg, I've gotten reliant on seeing updates here posted on your Facebook page. I shall endeavor to check back more often!

Absolutely love this, and it's very timely for me too. I've always appreciated how you explain writing but don't cram the 'suggestions' down your readers' throats. Learning to be patient has taken me several years, but I'm finding that its actually more fun to drop the surprises in a tiny bit at a time!Christina K. It takes a bit of thought, but always sounds much better when the characters speak and think naturally. The novel is better for it every single time and the characters always feel that much more alive.

Thanks for the great post! =DAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16925986650893351572noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3354915789972448915.post-69751751192272765712013-08-14T13:13:40.146-04:002013-08-14T13:13:40.146-04:00I couldn't agree more. It also helped to build my characters and find out who they really are. We've just created this fantastic world and we want to explain it all and tell everyone about it, but we must resist. The world will become real in due course. And it's so tempting to include all the different legends and myths that you've created, but as great as they are you need to ask yourself if they're really needed for the story you're telling...DRChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03352970077497112668noreply@blogger.com
