Narrators' Greatest Hits

It's been nearly two years since Audible took stock of their best narrators, and when they did, Tim Gerard Reynolds made the list!
  • Ray Porter
  • Andi Arndt
  • George Newborn
  • Tim Gerard Reynolds
  • Emily Woo Zeller
  • Oliver Wyman
  • Tavia Gilbert
  • Rosalyn Landor
  • Bronson Pinchot
  • Gabra Zackman
  • Grover Gardner
  • Therese Plummer
Anyone who knows me is familiar with my undying respect for Tim's work. I consider myself honored to have him as a fellow collaborator. There's no doubt he is the voice of Riyria. Wait, I take that back, because it's too limiting. Tim is also rocking the voices for the Legends of the First Empire series, so I guess I have to call him the voice of Elan.

Tim's body of work has grown by leaps and bounds since his first release in July 2010. Theft of Swords was Tim's 6th recording and it was released in March 2012. Today he has more than 90 titles!

It must have been difficult for Audible to pick from all those works to get Tim's Top 10, and I'm honored that two of the Riyria books made the list:

So, if you've not heard Tim Gerard Reynolds yet, what's holding you back? If you have, then you already know how awesome he is. Either way, try one of these or any of the other books he's narrated. I haven't found any that aren't absolutely fabulous.

  1. Red Rising by Pierce Brown
  2. Dawn of Wonder by Jonathan Renshaw
  3. The Crown Tower by Michael J. Sullivan
  4. The Red Sea by Edward W. Robertson
  5. Faithful Place by Tana French
  6. Chasing the Scream by Johann Hari
  7. Shift by Hugh Howey
  8. Son of the Black Sword by Larry Correia
  9. Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan
  10. Prince of Fools by Mark Lawrence

  1. I listen to 60+ audiobooks a year, and he's definitely my favorite narrator- AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT :D

Seriously though, I've experienced books that I'm not sure I would have prioritized reading, because he narrated them. I'm going to use Red Rising as an example, and that whole series is on my favorites ever list now.

I mean... I just listened to 'The Game' in the Unbound anthology and I'm not sure it was you or him or both of you put together, but I got all misty eyed over a character I'd known for 20 minutes, lol.

So, in conclusion, thanks for indirectly and accidentally introducing me to a plethora of great stories thanks to your narrator :P

  2. Hey Star - I'll be more than willing to accept blame for that! You are very welcome for the introduction, here's hoping you'll have many more great listens.

  3. Seriously, the reader can make or break the book and TGTGR definitely makes it. My first TGR exp was Riyria, but it's always so exciting to choose an audio book and then find out he's reading it ("Red Rising"/"Dawn of Wonder")!

  4. I purchased Age of Myth on a whim on Audible, and ever since then, I've been hooked on your books. I can honestly say that it was Tim Gerard Reynolds' narrating style that drew me in and got me hooked. He is hands down the best narrator out there.

  5. It's an amazing list! I adore Faithful Place by Tana French, and let me tell you that it was my first experience of using audio-books. Some of my points about it I described in college essay. Actually, I found a service on essay writing service reviews site at http://askpetersen.com/essay-writing-services-reviews/ that helped me with this analysis.
I'm going to buy more books from lists you posted earlier.

  6. I dont like all people from this list but on the whole this top is ok. I personally was a narrator and I even hadEssayforMe reviews. So when I'm saying that Pierce Brown probably shouldn't be №1 in this list, believe, i know what i'm talking about.
