Ask Me Anything!

Today on /r/fantasy I'll be doing an "Ask Me Anything," which if you've never been to one before it's a kind of Q&A where I'll talk about my books, publishing, or anything you want to chat about.  So please stop by and say hello, or better yet...ask me something!

  1. I am very curious how you and your team came to the decision to conclude Age of Legend the way you did? When I realized that I had only one chapter left I knew what was going to happen. It left me feeling frustrated, disappointed and empty realizing that I was going to have to wait years before I can read the conclusion of the series. Honestly I am not going to go through this again. I will purchase and read the series but I am going to wait until First Empire is completed.

    1. Just FYI...it won't be 'years' to wait. I believe 10 months total.

  2. So what is the name of the 5th book in the 4 book Age of series? And when is its release date?

  3. Sorry, I can't recommend Age of Legend because, well, I feel like I have been cheated. The series is artificially lengthened just to sell more books! It is a disgusting practice and realize it could be the publishers fault too. Just don't do this again if you want your readers to enjoy your work.

    1. Mirimar, while you're certainly entitled to your opinion you don't even have the balance of the story with which to support it. Trust that Michael is doing what he feels is best and hopefully enjoy the tale he's telling. (I am). We're not entitled to a 1000+ page tome that delivers two volumes of story. Loving the characters, loving the story, just my opinion. Eagerly awaiting the rest. As it should be. At least the manner in which Michael writes guarantees a proactive release schedule. Go visit a board dedicated to Rothfuss, Martin, etc. and consider yourself lucky. :)

  4. Hi,
I just discovered your books and have been inhaling them. After the feast scene, among other scenes, I'm wondering if you have been in the SCA and/or play Dnd? Because some of Royce and Harrigan's adventures remind me of some of the DnD adventures I've had.
Thank you so much for the wonderful tales@
